Took 4th overall in this small match. Most of the top shooters were at the Area 2 Championships in Phoenix, AZ. I shot pretty badly due to a combination of factors but the main problem was my head wasn’t in it. Rushing too many of my shots, didn’t get a good grip etc. etc.
Anyway, here’s the match video, enjoy!
I talked about Frog Lube in a recent post, and ordered a 4oz set from Ebay for about $28. This set comes with a 4oz liquid bottle, 4oz paste, applicator brush and a microfiber cloth. It came today and during the video recording of the PowerFactor show, Caleb brought his hybrid revolver and being Caleb, the gun is dirty as f**k! I thought, wouldn’t it be a great time to give Frog Lube a test.
The carbon on the gun has been there on the gun for a loooong time, and the gun was not cleaned for maybe, couple of hundred rounds if not thousands.
I used the liquid version of Frog Lube CLP :
Put a bit on a towel and went to work.
Here’s the breech face before & after :
The muzzle :
Not only does it clean the carbon off easily, it leaves a film of lubrication (it’s a CLP after all) that makes everything very slick but not oily. Also, it smells great to boot! Unlike Ballistol which smells like horse piss, Frog Lube smells like wintergreen gum or spearmint. I wanted to lick the revolver after I cleaned it.
I probably wouldn’t use just Frog Lube on my competition guns as they tend to run best wet, but I will definitely use it for my carry guns.
Here’s a short video review of my new Kimber CDP Elite II Ultra carry gun. This is a fantastic, small and very reliable carry gun that’s chambered in 45 ACP. Takes 7 rounds in the magazine that fits into it’s small Officer sized aluminum frame.
It shoots well, is very reliable and feels great to carry. The completely dehorned (Carry Melt) treatment makes the gun feel much smaller than it looks. I carry this in a Crossbreed Supertuck Shorty and the combination makes it so comfortable to wear I don’t ever want to take it out.
I also took some footage of me shooting the gun in Slow Fire at targets 15 yards away, Rapid fire with reload from 5 yards away and out to 200 yards at a steel man-sized target. All of these done standing off-hand (unsupported). You’ll see that the gun is plenty accurate for one this small with a 3” barrel.

very interesting that it’s completely Bio-degradable, made with natural materials , great for your skin and smells like mint.
I’m so buying it! Will post a review soon.
Loved the faux ivory grips on my Kimber Eclipse Pro II that I decided to get a pair for my CDP Elite II. I figured it’ll look really nice against a matte black frame + slide.
Bought these excellent (and yet cheap) plastic grips from Duragrips.com
and after the grips are put on :
SWEET!
Found a recipe online for a great lubricant for my guns and decided to give it a try. I’ve been an avid fan of GunButter and have been using it for a long time. It has served me well, not just because of the way it works and smell, but that it comes in a great needle tip applicator.
I found these bottles on ebay for real cheap and bought three of them to give it a try. http://www.ebay.com/itm/350500551219?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Bottles look exactly the same as the ones that are used by GunButter, perhaps it’s manufactured by the same company.
Here’s the lubricant mix I used :
and voila! I can’t believe it’s not…
