Now that I got the 013 Holster setup, I took my four Safariland Model 773 Adjustable Magazine Pouches and attempt to find the sweet spot on the Safariland ELS Competition Belt system Model 032.
The Magazine pouches are very sturdy and comes with two “rollers” on the bottom part of the pouch.
Those rollers assist you in drawing your magazine from the pouch. You can also adjust the tension using the two screws. I didn’t have to because the fit was perfect for my SV and STI magazines.
The way you’d mount the mag pouches would be using the ELS 34 Locking Fork and ELS 35 Receiver plates. You’d screw down the Receiver Plate on the ELS Belt System.
The Magazine Pouches already come with the ELS 34 Locking Fork installed, so all you have to do is to slot them into the plate and they fit snugly.
From what I’ve heard/read/seen on online forums and YouTube, the best way to position a magazine pouch is so that when you grab the magazine, your wrist is not bent out of shape. The best position would be to have your arm and hands in a straight line when you grab your magazine. This took some time as the can’t is restricted to how you position the screws in the Receiver Plate and the Belt.
As you can see from this picture, the position of the first magazine pouch looks extreme, but this allows my hand to lie straight while I gab on to the magazine.
Here it is after putting on all the mag pouches :
My wife says it looks really messy. Functional is what I told her
Can’t wait to give it a try! I also have a Double Alpha Magnetic magazine holder on order to complete the rig.
