At every major match I attend, the ROs will call me “Lo-ki” so for this year’s Trigger Treat, I decide to shoot as… Loki from the Marvel Universe. Halloween hosefests are super fun especially when it’s held after the Nationals and you can release some steam and just blast away.
Here’s my first ever 360° match video. This was taken using the Ricoh Theta S camera. You can watch this using a compatible browser like Chrome or through the YouTube app on your phone. You can pan around the screen or move your phone around you to watch the video from any perspective you like.
Here’s a one stage video I put together to test out how a simulated Heads-Up-Display could work. This was requested by some folks at the WaGuns.org forum. I wanted to see how hard it is and how much time. It took almost an hour to get this up but I think it’ll be faster if I had the map already drawn and everything in place. That said, still fun to watch. There are still a lot of errors but you know that this is a "test" right? 🙂
Ricardo Lopez is the grand-master of masters. He is the world champion revolver shooter and bested even the unbeatable god of revolvers, Jerry Miculek during the most recent World Shoot XVI.
here’s a playlist of videos that was posted by patoboy71 on YouTube of Ricardo’s performance. amazing.
We’ve been recording and releasing episodes for the PowerFactor show for almost 7 months now, mostly using our own savings and time from the hosts, Steve & Rick. The only complaint we’ve been receiving so far is the audio quality. The recording equipment we have is a cheapass wireless microphone system from China. It has served us well but recently we’ve been plagued by disconnecting issues resulting in bad audio quality.
Ever since we’ve posted a Donate button on our website, we’ve been receiving a number of donations from loyal listeners who really want to support us and the show. Obviously the first thing we do with these donations, is to buy audio recording equipment to help fix the problem.
We bought two Olympus VN-8100PC audio recorders which are really small and handy.
Not only is the audio quality really good, it is also a self contained unit with built in memory. You can easily plug in it into a PC using USB and copy the WMA or MP3 files out for editing.
It is really very portable, so Steve and Rick can just dump the recorder into their pocket anywhere they are and talk away. We don’t have to lug around the wireless mics, receivers and a laptop like we used to do.
We also bought two matching noise cancelling Olympus ME-15 lapel microphones .
The recorders also come with a really handy and cute neoprene case to keep it safe :
Looking forward to recording more episodes with these recorders and raise the overall quality of the show. Thanks guys!
Shot the monthly IDPA match in the Renton Fish & Game Club on Saturday and had a lot of fun. The gun ran flawlessly, only one light strike, probably from a primer that didn’t seat well. The trigger job is very good, I just need to get used to it and I’m sure it’ll do wonders to my score.
I came in top revolver and 30th out of 91 shooters. Not bad considering I beat most Sharpshooters & Marksman of other faster semi-auto guns. Need to work on my accuracy and reloading a little bit more.
Here’s the video of the match :
My goal is to beat Experts in other divisions (namely ESP + SSP) in a few months. Let’s see if I can do it!
